Using food lures, or showing your dog a treat to maneuver him into a physical position, can be a powerful training tool.
But there is a downside to using food lures. If you use too many food lures in a row, your dog will become dependent on the sight of that food. Then, when you don’t have a treat, your dog won’t know what to do.
